I have a male betta and he has made a bubble nest and has breeden, but his buble nest pops right away after he is done breeding. I have 1 filter, 1 heater, and gravel. Please answer my bettas are trying to breed again and I dont know what to do.Why does my bettas bubble nest pop afetr breeding?
Breeding bettas can be a pain in the butt! We tried for a long time! Once the bubbles are blown, the female must immediately lay her eggs in the bubble nest, before they all dissipate. Once your fish finally have their eggs laid, be careful, because they will eat the eggs if they are too hungry, or sometimes just because. Also, make sure the babies are completely separate from the adults. Adult bettas WILL EAT their babies! Don't ask me why... haha... I just know they do! Good luck and I hope this helped! Why does my bettas bubble nest pop afetr breeding?
Don't have gravel in breeding tank first off cuz the eggs fall to the bottom and male needs be able to catch them and get them off bottom of tank... also u only need 5-6inches of water in the tank... u may want to stop this breeding process if its not succeeding anyways and reset up the tank... the male usually keeps building nest around the the eggs in the nest also... o also do u have a half of styrophom cup in front right corner for him to built his nest in? If not then this is a big issue as well... u can email me for more info if need to.. hope helps :)Why does my bettas bubble nest pop afetr breeding?
Here are some tricks to make your betta make a bubblenest.
1) make him flare by putting a mirror in front of him. this will make him think that there is a rival betta going to take his girl. If this doesn't work, or you don't have a mirror, you can print out a picture of a male betta and show that.
2) lower the pH and increase the temp
3) lower the water level

The filter is probably the problem if you have it turned on. The current created by the filter is too much for the nest to handle. The nest would do best in no current at all.
