What does it mean when a bubble pops up from the toolbar that says IP address problems?

It's not an actual pop up, it's one of the little icons down by the "network connections" icon.

Anyway, it keeps saying that there is an IP error.. Something about problems with another computer's IP address on the network.

I'd tell you exactly what it said except that it went away before I could type it out...What does it mean when a bubble pops up from the toolbar that says IP address problems?
Sounds like an IP conflict. Your computer and another on your network are trying to use the same IP address...a big no no in the network world. Do you set you address manually? Goto run, type cmd and when the command prompt comes up, type IPCONFIG /all. This will give you your address and it will tell you if it is DHCP or Static. Unless you have a specific purpose for having a static, then go to your network properties and set you IP back to DHCP, or find the other device that is using the same IP.
